Success on the road has helped put the Portland Trail Blazers in position to make the playoffs, and it would seem visiting the woeful Golden State Warriors should only help.
However, the Trail Blazers will be trying to avoid a 10th consecutive loss in Oakland on Thursday, when the Warriors open a four-game homestand following a winless road trip. Tipoff is schedule for 7 PM on Comcast SportsNet Channel 37 and 95.5 The Game. The Trail Blazers (38-28) are set for back-to-back road games against two of the league's worst teams - they visit Sacramento on Friday - but are coming off a subpar performance in an 88-81 win over the Kings on Tuesday. While the Trail Blazers failed to extend their stretch of 100-point games to eight, All-Star guard Brandon Roy knows there must be a better effort on a regular basis if they're going to make the playoffs. They currently stand eighth in the Western Conference. Game Info || Preview || Video: Cunningham's Blocks
Brandon Roy scored 19 points and hit a clinching jumper with just over two minutes left, leading the Portland Trail Blazers to an 88-81 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday night.
The Kings pulled to a 74-all tie in the final quarter, but Roy's jumper with 2:07 remaining made it 85-78 and all but sealed it for the Blazers, who have won five straight against the Kings. “We had a couple leads there but we didn’t do a good job of putting them away," said Roy. "We let them start the fourth quarter with a 10-0 run. We can’t let them start quarters like that and we’ve just got to do a better job of putting them away.” Roy added eight rebounds for Portland. Nicolas Batum and Andre Miller each scored 14 points. Marcus Camby returned after sitting out the Blazers' last game, a 118-106 loss at Denver, with a sprained left ankle. He finished the game with 6 points, 8 rebounds and 5 blocks while steadying the Trail Blazers defense late in the game. continue Game Info || Recap || Box Score || Video: Camby Post-game || Video: Miller With The Steal ![]() |
